The 3 Tier Point-of-Service (POS) plan empowers your employees to make decisions about how they receive care and who they receive it from. Employees can receive care from 1) Kaiser Permanent’s full-service care delivery system 2) Contracted Providers and 3) Any licensed non-Contracted Provider. *
Your employees are free to choose whatever provider they prefer, whenever they receive care.
Kaiser Permanente Care: Fully coordinated, high-quality care, lowest cost of the three options.
Contracted providers in the community:
Any licensed non-contracted provider: Care from any licensed provider, highest out-of-pocket costs.
*Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc. (KFHP) underwrites the Kaiser Permanente provider option. The contracted and non-contracted provider options of this plan are underwritten by Kaiser Permanente Insurance Company (KPIC), a subsidiary of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc.
