Overview

At Kaiser Permanente, we believe that there’s no better choice than choosing good health. That’s why we provide your employees with a health plan that gives them the tools they need to get healthy and stay healthy. Employees also have the flexibility they need and the choice of doctors they want.

Like three plans rolled into one, Added Choice offers four provider options for employees to receive care.  Members can move among the four provider options at any time, so they can always make the best decisions for their health and their wallets.

  • Kaiser Permanente provider option: In-network care from Kaiser Permanente’s high quality integrated healthcare delivery system. This option provides the most coordinated care with the lowest out-of-pocket costs. Choose from over 600 Kaiser Permanente providers at more than 20 facilities on Oahu, Maui, Hawaii Island and Kauai plus over 24,000 Kaiser Permanente providers and more than 600 facilities on the continental US.
  • Contracted Provider Options:

Contracted provider option in Kaiser Permanente States (CA, CO, GA, HI, MD, VA, WA, and DC.):  With the Contracted Provider option, members have access to more than 3,000 Kaiser Permanente Insurance Company (KPIC) contracted providers and 160 contracted hospitals and care facilities in Hawaii1. Additionally, the PHCS Network provides access to more than 4,000 providers and 180 contracted facilities in Hawaii and more than 239,000 contracted providers and 20,000 contracted facilities in other Kaiser Permanente States2.  Be sure to check if your provider is a contracted provider prior to receiving services.

Contracted provider option in non-Kaiser Permanente States: Members have access to Cigna HealthcareSM PPO Network options in non-Kaiser Permanente states (outside of CA, CO, GA, HI, MD, OR, VA, WA and DC) for medical care3.

  • Non-contracted provider option: Members have access to any licensed provider who is not a Kaiser Permanente provider or contracted provider.
